The Relevance Of Cracking In Concrete to Corrosion of Reinforcement
14th January 2016

This report examines, in detail, the relevance of cracking in concrete to the corrosion of reinforcement. The first edition, published in 1995, was a response to the BRE publications, which suggested that cracks in concrete structures can give rise to reinforcement corrosion. The conclusion was thought to be contrary to practical experience, which tended to suggest that usually corrosion damage did not occur during the service life of the structure.
